From her early days releasing bawdy Latin Trap parodies of K-Pop songs on YouTube, to the release of the nostalgia driven pop anthem, Frutsi!, Gabriela Triste has never been confined to the usual artistic parameters. Pulling influence from Latin icons such as Jose Jose, and contemporary pop acts like Doja Cat and Cariño, Gabriela Triste has emerged as one of the more promising artists in the Latinx Pop era. In 2019, Triste released a diy lo-fi project titled Frutsi! which contained demo versions of familiar songs such as Frutsi! and Domingo. After a falling out with her producer, the project was removed from all platforms in 2019. On February 29th, 2020, Gabriela Triste returned with the release of the studio version of Frutsi! under Normandie Records. Since then, she has garnered millions of streams across multiple platforms. She has been featured on publications such as Remezcla, and has been on Spotify’s Top 50 Viral in El Salvador and Chile.
In 2021, Gabriela Triste finished and released her debut EP titled Triste which features the studio versions of Frutsi!, Domingo, and 44. Triste features production from Gaby Nieto, GARS, Audio Maldito and mixing and mastering by Julio Rodas and Cesar “Ceez” Mejia of The Shelter Studios in Boyle Heights, CA.
